Fitness update March 31

Back in two weeks turned into four…  First I was hit by the flu, which floored me for a week. This happens maybe every 2-3 years, but when it does, I am really out of order. Took a week to recover and in the third week, just when I thought I was doing better, pollen came down on us and it made me feel NO better than the first week. Even though I’m glad it’s Spring, pollen just makes it less pleasant and many people suffer from allergies. You may never have had any allergies in your life, but come to Georgia and you WILL join the club!

Food

Nothing tastes better than chicken soup when you’re not feeling well, so I had a lot of soup (with hot sauce) and orange juice during those weeks. Even though I didn’t consume many calories, surprisingly, I still gained weight. Imagine my frustration when the scale said 177! I was so mad I had a Bacon BBQ Burger with fries this week! LOL, what a way to take revenge! At least I didn’t eat the bun, and though I hate to waste food, it made me feel better to skip that 300 calorie bun. The fries were so good, a trade for any chips or cookies for a whole month! So worth it!

Exercise

Zero. Zero exercising in at least 3 weeks and very minimal during this past week. Ahh, and that is why I probably gained weight! This week I did better, started my morning (mini) yoga routine again, danced flamenco and did some exercise videos, a total of 4 hours. Not much, but I won’t be too demanding of myself after being miserable for weeks. But… it seems to have helped to get me back on track, back to 175. Yeah! I’ll take this small victory and will pick up where I left 4 weeks ago 🙂 .
